Your Story Matters...Share It With Others.

About

Hi, I'm Tim Gregg–that's me between my parents in the photo above–and I'm the originator and principal "storyteller" for the Brazos Valley Legacy Project.

Since moving to the Bryan/College Station area in 2017, I've had the pleasure to tell a number of stories in the books I've written for a variety of clients and on a variety of subjects. In almost every story I've told, I've preserved the significance of someone's idea, action or contribution to a cause greater than themselves. In a sense, each story has helped define someone's legacy.

Legacy matters. It matters to companies. It matters to families. And, it matters to individuals. In a real way, our legacy is a representation of who we are and what we stand for. And make no mistake, legacies are as much for the living as they are for those who came before us.

The importance of legacy was revealed to me when I sat my father in front of a video camera and asked him to talk about his life. Three years before, I had left a steady job in the corporate world to go out on my own as a freelance video producer. I wanted to tell stories full time, and as a former radio sportscaster, working with the visual medium was enticing to me. But, my father, a blue-collar worker his entire life, struggled to understand what exactly it was I was doing to earn a steady income.

With lights, camera and a microphone boom set up in the living room of his house, I showed Dad what I did in my work. To immerse him in the full experience, I asked my father to tell me about his childhood. An hour later, when we were finished, I had learned much about my father that I had not known before. We both enjoyed the experience immensely, and I promised to come back soon and "continue the conversation."

A few weeks later, I recorded him talking about his time in the Army during World War II. His stories, dramatically told, opened my eyes to a part of his past I knew surprisingly little about. When we finished, I vowed to do one more interview: my father's recollections about raising his only child, me.

He died before I could get that done.

Thus was born my interest in and passion for preserving legacies through stories told and shared with others.

Let me preserve a part of your legacy. Let's preserve a part of your life story in which a significant challenge was faced and overcome. The Brazos Valley Legacy Project intends to catalogue these stories and make them available to others in need of good advice or a sound perspective as a means to overcome their own obstacles and setbacks.

Become a contributor. Become a friend. Make a difference in someone else's life, and reflect on the journey and accomplishments of your own life.
